Our Commitment to Child Safety.
At Bright Path Paediatric Therapy, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people is at the centre of everything we do.
We are committed to providing safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where children feel respected, heard, and empowered to participate in decisions that affect them. We recognise that every child has the right to feel safe and to be treated with dignity and respect.
Bright Path Paediatric Therapy has zero tolerance for child abuse, neglect, exploitation, or harm in any form. We are committed to preventing harm by embedding child-safe practices into our everyday work and by actively identifying and managing risks to children across all service settings, including homes, schools, clinics, and community environments.
Our organisation is committed to implementing and maintaining the Queensland Child Safe Standards and the Child Safe Standards Universal Principle, including creating culturally safe environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
We are committed to:
Placing the safety and wellbeing of children at the centre of all decision-making.
Listening to and valuing children's voices, views, and choices.
Creating safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environments for all children and families.
Maintaining clear professional boundaries and child-safe behaviours.
Recruiting, training, and supporting workers to uphold child safety responsibilities.
Taking all concerns about child safety seriously and responding promptly and appropriately.
Continually reviewing and improving our policies, practices, and systems to strengthen child safety.
At Bright Path Paediatric Therapy, we promote child safety by:
Listening to children and encouraging them to express their views, preferences, and concerns.
Supporting children to participate in decisions about their therapy in ways that are appropriate to their age and development.
Creating safe, inclusive, and culturally respectful environments for all children and families.
Maintaining clear professional boundaries and child-safe behaviours at all times.
Implementing child safety policies, procedures, and risk management practices across all service settings.
Providing ongoing child safety and safeguarding training for our workers.
Encouraging children, families, schools, and community members to raise concerns or provide feedback about child safety.
Taking all concerns seriously and responding promptly and appropriately.
Continually reviewing and improving our policies, practices, and systems to strengthen child safety and wellbeing.
Because our services are delivered in homes, schools, clinics, and community settings, we actively identify and manage risks associated with providing therapy in diverse environments and implement safeguards to protect children and support safe practice.
