Occupational therapy supports children to build foundational skills for school participation.

Collaboration with educators & families.

Supporting a child’s participation in learning is most effective when families and educators are working together. Occupational therapy may include collaboration with teachers, early childhood educators, and support staff to help ensure strategies are consistent across environments.

This collaboration is always guided by consent and tailored to the child’s needs and setting.

What this may look like:

  • Sharing practical strategies that can be used in the classroom or early learning setting

  • Providing guidance around regulation supports, routines, or sensory needs

  • Supporting consistent approaches between home and school

  • Attending school or educator meetings (where appropriate)

  • Providing written recommendations or simple strategy summaries for educators

  • Helping adapt classroom tasks or environments to support participation

We’re here to help.

If your child is finding school or early learning challenging, occupational therapy can help support participation and confidence in learning environments.
